For one day in April, all was right in the sports world

Friday was about as good as it gets in the sports world. For just one day, April 8, everything came up Brandon:

  • The Cubs won their first road game of the season, beating Milwaukee 7-4.
  • The Cardinals' Ryan Franklin blew a ninth-inning lead and St. Louis fell to the Giants in 12 innings.
  • The NL Central-leading Reds got trounced by the Diamondbacks 13-2.
  • The White Sox handed the Rays their first win of the season, blowing a three-run lead in the ninth.
  • As a Sox hater, I root for the Twins and Tigers--both teams won.
  • Though I have to admit I'm a bit intrigued by Boston's incredibly slow start, it was still nice to see them beat the Yankees for their first win.
  • And just for good measure, the Bulls clinched the #1 seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs.
It doesn't get much better than that.
