Friday Favorites: Wood Countertops, Lego Storage and Nutella French Toast

Happy Friday! This week and month both seem to be flying by.  With spring sort of in the air, I'm taking on some new home projects, wanting your opinion and sharing a few of my favorites.

Our countertops are a terrible blue green Formica. I am seriously considered replacing them with something like this. Have you ever had wood or butcher-block countertops?

I've also had my eye on this bench from Crate & Barrel but might settle for this cheaper version.

I just learned about thumbtack, a site that pairs you with handymen, painters and even yoga teachers. I'm thinking of trying it for some odd repair jobs around the house.

My kids are back into Legos!  After a few months of them sitting untouched, something sparked a renewed interest and they almost seem like new.  What is not cool is the Lego mess.  How can I keep the endless pieces under control? This, this and this all offer brilliant Lego storage options, although I'm not sure we are capable of such organization.

We've been consistent with our family dinners and they've been slowly more relaxed and enjoyable.  Everyone loved (or at least ate without complaining) chicken skewers with mint yogurt sauce, white turkey chili and my husband made this deliciously sweet Nutella French toast on Valentines Day.

My husband and I are loving this show.  I am anxiously awaiting Tuesdays suddenly.  My only complaint is the whole Kardashian storyline, and I can't get past David Schwimmer being Ross.

Also, I was proud to be featured on The Mighty this week and please consider donating in Donna's honor to fund pediatric cancer research.
