Reading is not high on my to-do list these days, although the stack of books by my bed says otherwise. Luckily, I had the chance to fly through Where'd You Go, Bernadette: A Novel by Maria Semple.
This easy read follows Bernadette Fox, a former successful architect now agoraphobic, her Microsoft-guru husband and gifted daughter Bee. The honest tale of one women's withdrawal from the world and her families search to bring her back includes beautiful descriptions of Seattle and Antartica. It is a reminder of today's email obsessed modern world and the story uses technology and wit to find where the main character escaped to.
Now I'm deciding what will be my next summer read.
What are you reading these days?
