The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge has received donations over $22.9 million dollars to the ALS Association as of August 19, 2014.
In case you have been on an electronic cleanse, the challenge involves people getting doused with buckets of ice water on video, posting that video to social media, then nominating others to do the same, all in an effort to raise ALS awareness. Those we refuse the challenge are asked to make a donation.
Pete Frates has lived with ALS since 2012. The now 29 year old, along with his family helped to make the ice bucket challenge go viral.
Besides the friends, family members, random Facebook friends and co-worker pouring ice on their heads are an impressive amount of celebrities. They show a sense of realness, as it is hard to be glamorous when freezing water is being poured on your head.
Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck
Here are my kids and I participating. I do wish we could think of something similar to bring awareness to MS. If you come up with any ideas, please let me know.
