Treat yourself to four ingredient Nutella Brownies

I often sense my kids are not listening to me when I ask them to brush their hair or set the table.  Then sometimes I realize they hear every word I say.

This morning on the way to school my boy wondered out loud "Mama, when are you going to make those Nutella Brownies?"

I have no memory of this discussion, but I knew exactly the ones that I drooled over at A Cup of Jo he was referring to.

After I dropped him off and said goodbye, I knew I had to surprise him with these brownies when he got home from school.

I pushed off the baking for a few hours as I had other things that seemed more important, but once I began I wondered why I avoided such a spoon-licking delicious experience.

Only requiring four ingredients and one bowl, this recipe takes a short 40 minutes from start to finish.

Nutella Fudge Nut Brownies

Recipe adapted from Heather Green of Garland of Grace for A Cup of Jo

Ingredients
1 cup Nutella
2 eggs
1 cup whole wheat flour
1/4 cup chopped walnuts

Preheat the oven to 350F. Spray a muffin pan with non-stick cooking spray. In a medium bowl, whisk together the Nutella and eggs. Add the flour, and whisk until blended.

Spoon the batter evenly into the muffin pan and sprinkle with chopped walnuts.

Bake 8-12 minutes, just until the tops have set and cracked around the edges.  Set aside and allow to cool for 5 minutes. Remove brownies from the pan and let cool completely.

These perfect chocolate bites are one of the reasons that I am unhappy with the number on the scale.  I struggle to find the balance between enjoying decadent delicacies and treating my body well with clean eating.

These are worth every bite.
