This post is a part of ChicagoNow's Blogapolooza Hour.
Your challenge, if you choose to accept it, is to publish a post in one hour. Here is tonight's challenge:
Write a post passionately defending your guilty pleasure(s). Think food, TV shows, celebrities, publications, movies, in-laws, whatever it is that probably kind of sucks but you (and maybe only you) definitely kind of love.
Be creative, enjoy the process. Use words, images or video. Whatever you need to tell your story.
Be aware of the time. No matter when you finish, please wait until 10 p.m. to publish. Above all, please respect the deadline.
I have many pleasures, but I cannot say that I feel guilty about too many of them.
My favorite movie is Beaches. Isn't it yours too?
Should I feel guilty about loving a story of childhood friends there for each other until the bitter end?
I would drop any diet, weightloss plan or cleanse for peanut butter and chocolate.
I love to spy on weddings.
Should I be ashamed for loving to watch the union as two souls join into one?
Honestly, there are days where I would rather spend 24 hours tucked comfortably in my bed more than anything else in the world.
Celebrities? Hmm…I do have a soft spot for Rosie O'Donnell.
Once again I really don't feel guilt for respecting an outspoken women who donates millions to charity and has adopted and raised five children.
Is my old age softening me? Or possibly I am simply feeling acceptance to the good, bad and ugly of my pleasures?
I'm off to lay in bed, eat peanut butter and chocolate and watch Beaches.
Do we have to experience guilt to feel pleasure? What are your guilty pleasures?
