I drop my girl off at 7:55 a.m. and return at 2:55 p.m. counting the minutes to see my baby's face.
"How was Kindergarten?" I unintentionally scream.
"Good" she answered one day.
"I want to go to Jackie's house." she said the next.
"Can you get me a lunch ticket?" she pleaded another.
Then silence follows. Her thumb often goes in her mouth and I know she is tired and follow her lead and give her the quiet she needs after a stimulating day.
But, I have so many questions.
"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR THE PAST SEVEN HOURS?"
When she is feeling chatty and I get some words from her she describes school as recess, lunch, and snack time. Her eyes light up when she talks about her purple folder and made it clear her room number is 109.
I don't want to be THAT mom that is calling the teacher and following their kid inside the classroom to
spy observe them.
I simply wonder what they do in Kindergarten all day.
