We went apple picking early this year. It was strange to be wearing tank tops and shorts instead of our usual fleece and gloves, but the sun was shining and the apples were everywhere.
Even though we chugged water instead of hot chocolate and cider, I know the cold weather is coming and my kitchen is overflowing in apples ready to be made into something delicious.
Fresh off the success of the Zucchini Chips, I experimented making Apple Chips and was surprised how fast they were eaten.
These taste a lot like the packaged Apple Chips they sell at Costco, but all natural and much cheaper.
1 Tablespoon coconut oil melted
2 Tablespoons cinnamon
1 Tablespoons sugar
a pinch of salt
Thinly slice the apples through the core. Cut in half and eliminate seeds and core. Place on tray with parchment paper and pour melted coconut oil evenly over apples. Sprinkle with cinnamon, sugar and salt.
Bake at 275 for 2 hours flipping after one hour.
