Bookmark this now.  You are going to want this list of the best vegetarian and vegan dishes to make for picnics, barbecues and your family.  This time of year is when all the fresh ingredients begin to bloom and are available at Farmer's Markets throughout the city.  There is nothing more fun than serving food just picked from the earth that morning.

Here it is.  Enjoy and please let me know which recipes are your favorites and if you have other staples that should be added to the list.

Perfect use for your chives growing is this easy orzo side dish.

A frittata for two that can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Creamy, vegan spring time asparagus soup.

Chickpea tacos with slaw can be thrown together any night of the week.

No guilt in eating these raw vegan Nori Rolls.

We don't eat enough cauliflower!  This cauliflower with red chile paste will please even those who don't think they love the white floret.

When you can get fresh tomatoes and basil, this simple and flavorful pasta dish will blow you away.

Summer bruschetta with peaches?  Yes, please.

Here were my favorite summer dishes last year.
