Peeled's Raw Juice Cleanse: Day Two

Peeled's Raw Juice Cleanse: Day Two

If you are catching up, here is why I decided to start the cleanse and here is what happened on Day One.

7:00 a.m.  I woke up this morning much better than how I felt when I went to sleep.  I smiled surprised and proud that I survived an entire day without eating (even longer than Yom Kippur).  I didn't realize I was capable of that.

I did a little yoga with my daughter and was strong and energetic.  Making breakfast for the kids wasn't too hard either and I was relieved this cleanse was getting easier.

8:00 a.m. Who knew drinking herbal green tea could be such a treat?  With my tea I opened my first drink of the day, Green Lantern (kale, romaine, spinach, cucumber, parsley, celery, lemon, ginger).

10:00 a.m. I am still drinking the same Green Lantern.  I'm surprised it is taking me so long to finish each drink.

The little ones and I take a long walk while I am pushing my too big kids in a stroller.  At the park instead of sitting on the bench looking at my phone per usual, I am playing with them; even racing my boy and attempting pull-ups on the monkey bars.

Noon Call me crazy, but I took my kids out to lunch to Qdoba.  In my mind it was easier than having to touch and prepare food.  It smelled delicious as I stepped inside, but surprisingly I wasn't as tempted to taste their beans or guacamole  as I thought I would.

Today my second drink Cayenne Lemonade (water, lemons, cayenne, agave, maple syrup, sea salt) went down much easier, dare I say I might have enjoyed many of the sips?

Since I was feeling more productive than usual I took the kids for haircuts and realize I'm much less lethargic than usually at this time of day.

Observation: Food should provide energy, but many processed foods cause lethargy and lack of motivation. I'm less tired with less food.

2:00 p.m.  After we got home I made a cup of satisfying green tea and opened my third drink, the bright red Maroon Five (beet, carrot, apple, lemon and ginger).  Again, it tasted so much better than yesterday.  My body must be getting adjusted to the cleanse.

Observation: I do not have to eat every single piece of my food my children do not eat.  It is sad to waste it, but necessary for me to get a grip on mindless eating.

4:00 p.m. We headed to my sister-in-laws and there I drank my 4th drink another Green Lantern.  This went down easy and I barely felt like I was fasting.

6:00 p.m. Now I'm home and drinking another Maroon Five my 5th drink of the day.  Clearly I have more energy as I'm drinking all the drinks today and getting more nutrients.  My stomach is growling a little, but I am sure it will pass as I'm now off to teach yoga.

9:00 p.m. I'm home from yoga and noticed during class how present I was feeling.  I couldn't believe that after not eating for two days I was no more hungry then usual after class.

Today was a good day.  I'm eager to see how my third and final day of the cleanse is tomorrow.
