Pedicures and Childcare Under One Roof at Urban Mom Salon

Pedicures and Childcare Under One Roof at Urban Mom Salon

You know those days where you've spent the majority of it cleaning up pee, poop, syrup, cheerios, drool and tears?  You catch a glimpse of your reflection in the mirror and notice your pony tailed hair desperately in need of a trim?  You think of when you can find the time and childcare to get away for a few hours and know schedules are tight for a few weeks?

Now you can go to the newly opened Urban Mom Salon and be pampered while your kids are in a separate, ventilated playoasis having fun with trained nannies.  Both of you getting a break and spending some time apart equals win, win for everyone involved.

Urban Mom Salon invited me and my kids to try a complimentary service.  I picked them up from school and instead of heading home as usual; we drove towards Damen and Webster for a special afternoon.  The fact that there was parking in front and I didn't have to pay the dreaded money meter, I was already impressed.

The ladies at the salon greeted me and my mini me's with enthusiasm, it always relieves stress to be at a place that kids are wanted.  My little ones welcomed a new environment with toys, snacks and a TV and I welcomed the attached bathroom for my still potty training daughter.  The kids are overseen by Chicago Nannies Inc. that are screened, experienced and engaging.

I got a blowout, which I never had before, but figured good hair could only make my day better.  Tara was so sweet and did a great job.

My children asked when we could go back which only gives me incentive to get my waxing taken care of.  I can always use a mani/pedi and I'm planning to invite my playgroup there for our next get together.

I know you can't wait to check this new spot out and the ladies at Urban Mom Salon offered to give an Ups and Downs of a Yoga Mom reader a complimentary pedicure.  To win simply leave a comment below saying what service you would try at Urban Mom Salon.  For additional entries Like Ups and Downs of a Yoga Mom  and Urban Mom Salon on Facebook and tweet this offer.  A winner will be chosen at random on Friday, October 7th and emailed with notification.

In the meantime, treat you and your little ones to a calming getaway.

  • Do you have to bring your children? ;) Although, when my daughter is a little older, I will totally bring her in for the mini mani!

  • In reply to erago:

I don't think you have to bring kids. It is a full service salon. I took my daughter for a mani for her 3rd birthday present (that is what she wanted) and she has never been better behaved. She loved it.

  • I would love to check this place out and get a pedicure!

  • This seems like a cool salon to go to. I'll try to check it out when I have a time. Also check hottie hairsalon.
