We've planned for months to head to Philadelphia this weekend to celebrate Bubby's 90th Birthday. The party sadly got canceled when news spread of the weather conditions heading out East. Our suitcase was packed and my husband had already taken off work, so we made a spontaneous decision to head to a nearby waterpark for the weekend.
I loved our old, pre-kids life of last minute road trips and adventures. That lifestyle is very difficult with young children. I'm thrilled that even though we are spending the weekend at a family friendly destination, we are still leaving town with little preparation or thought.
My daughter put on her bathing suit a day ahead of time and my son fell asleep asking questions about what to expect. Hopefully, it will be fun family time and a final farewell to summer before both kids head to school for the first time.
In the meantime, I would love if you could show your support and vote for me for the CBS's Most Valuable Blogger Award. It truly is an honor to be recognized for my writing, but I will be honest with you, I want to win!
All it takes is a click right here, and you can come back and do it every day until September 9th!
I will not be disappointed if the weathermen are mistaken and Irene is not as severe as expected. Please be safe everyone on the East Coast.
Have a great weekend!
