Today begins two weeks with nothing to do. On one hand the thought of not rushing, long naps and quiet days sound appealing. My other hand is worried we will be bored and the days will never end. I know my kids will love getting out of the house and experiencing new environments and activies. I must admit I am worried about crowds and germs.
I hope to get to the following spots in the next two weeks.
Explore and Much More: This is a new facility that opened in our neighborhood on Southport. The website seems like it is a great nearby spot to get out and let the kids burn off some energy. They also offer classes and are a green facility.
Kohl's Children's Museum: This Glenview fun spot is the perfect size for kids. Not too big that you are overwhelmed by the amount to see, but big enough to keep your kids occupied for a long time. My favorite attraction is the mini grocery store complete with shopping carts, cash registers and food. Why is it so much fun to pretend to grocery shop, but never as much fun to do the real thing? And why is everything mini so cute?
Make a Mesterpiece: I have heard mixed reviews about this Glenview Studio. Their website reads "Say Yes to the Mess." Our home is anti mess, so I have a feeling my kids might be confused. but will devour the opportunity to dirty themselves up. Thanks to Groupon my mom got a deal so we are going to try it out.
Winter Wonder Fest at Navy Pier: We went to this last year and had a blast. The ballroom is truly transformed complete with snow, ferris wheels, art projects and tons of treats. It does cost a lot of money for tickets, food and parking and the crowds are insane, but I still remember my kids' faces when they walked in the room last year and therefore we will be going back.
In addition we plan to go bowling, see the movie "Tangled" and still fit in my daily workouts. If I accomplish all of this I will be exhausted and proud. Have you been to any of these spots? Do you have any places to add to the list?
