It's Just The Beginning: 11 Things I Can't Seem To Part With

I need to move in June, and I occasionally go through my things in an effort to clean and cull and collate. However, I have a lot of stuff that ... I don't know why I still have. I can guarantee you most people would have thrown them out years ago. I think I save things because it helps preserve my memory -- of my own life -- which I find incredibly unreliable.  I also feel like I'm an archivist of things gone by, which no one asked me to do and which probably 99% of people don't give a shit about.

I do come by it honestly -- as my dad was going through old papers, he had every hospital bill from everything -- including my birth. Of course ... I'm now the proud owner of those documents; my sister took hers and immediately threw them in the garbage. I couldn't discard the carbon copies, the hand typed receipts, the history of how inexpensive you could get born in a hospital in 1974.

So, here are some random-ass things (11, to be exact), that I just can't get rid of. Maybe if I put them here for prosperity, I can get rid of them. But make no mistake, there are many more where this came from. Get ready for galleries of these in the months to come.
