Notre Dame's recruiting class has grown to double digits with the announcement that defensive end Clay Burton will play football for Brian Kelly and the Fighting Irish. He becomes the tenth member of Notre Dame's recruiting class and despite playing defense end in high school, may convert to outside linebacker once on campus.
Burton is currently listed at 6'4'' and 230 pounds and holds a 3.8 GPA at Venice High School in Florida.
Clay's brother Trey was a three star quarterback a year ago who is now in a backup role at the University of Florida. Despite having a brother there Clay didn't receive an offer to become a Gator but did choose the Irish over the likes of Tennessee, Georgia Tech, Clemson, and Florida State.
There are also rumors circulating that Burton is trying to talk his friend Aaron Lynch, a four star defensive end prospect from Cape Coral, Florida into playing for the Irish as well.
Welcome to Notre Dame, Clay Burton!
