One of the most heralded players in Notre Dame basketball history is headed to one of the most storied teams in all of professional sports: Luke Harangody has been drafted by the Boston Celtics.
The Celtics selected the 2007-08 Big East Player of the Year with the 52nd overall pick in Thursday night's NBA Draft. Harangody is the first player in Notre Dame basketball history to be selected to three consecutive all Big East teams, he is also the first player to lead the conference in scoring and rebounding in consecutive seasons.
Harangody is a product of Andrean High School in Merrillville, Indiana.
