The White Dress Project

On Thursday, United Colors of Benetton hosted The White Dress Project, which was presented in conjunction with Marie Claire magazine and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. The White Dress Project is the result of the efforts of 12 sophomores at SAIC who were given a task: design a top and skirt out of 100% white cotton. The cotton was offered in five weights, from stiff to light. Notably, the students could not apply embellishments that would comprise over 10% of the design as a whole. Check out the slideshow for photos of the finished products.
