What Did V-E Day Feel Like?

Victory in Europe! Nazis Surrender! The War In Europe Is Over! Surrender is Unconditional!   These are just a few of the headlines Americans and the world woke up to 69 years ago today. The aggressor that threatened to take control of Western Civilization for the next thousand years had been defeated. The surrender was... Read more »

British Soldier Killed in London

British Soldier Killed in London
A British soldier was killed, hit by a car then the knife-wielding assailants got out of the car and attempted to behead and disembowel the man as he lay dying in the street. In London. Today. When I saw the link from This Ain’t Hell, I had to click on it, thinking it was going... Read more »

Red Fridays - Thank You

Red Fridays - Thank You
This will be the last in the “Red Fridays” series, but I’m sure it won’t be the last time I write about our military and veterans. From the beginning, I have wanted to expose some of the issues and concerns our service members past and present face. I find it disgraceful the way our military... Read more »

Red Fridays - Just Another Patrol

Red Fridays - Just Another Patrol
It’s a typical day, a typical patrol, November 1st, 2010 outside a little village called Sanjaray. Make a loop through town, let the locals know we are here, guarding the school we rebuilt after the Taliban blew it up, of course while it was occupied. But, it was only girls, so as far as they... Red Fridays - Michelle Obama Supports Traitors?
This past week, a group of 32 American women landed in Pakistan. Their mission was to march from Islamabad to Waziristan, the lawless region on the border with Afghanistan. They were there to participate in a march decrying the use of drone attacks on this region which they claim are raining death on innocent Pakistanis, including... Read more »

Red Fridays-Blue on Green Violence

Red Fridays-Blue on Green Violence
Among the latest headlines, there is talk about the bold, extreme and drastic changes in how U.S. and Allied Forces in Afghanistan are  recruiting, vetting and training Afghan Police in light of a rash of  ‘green-on-blue’ attacks. Why Hate?

There are quantitative and qualitative differences between intelligence, knowledge, understanding, wisdom and hate. The former attributes infer something that if they truly exist, precludes the possibility of hate. It takes a certain type of willful lack of understanding, an intentional ignorance of facts, truth and reality for hate to flourish. The fact this indeed happens... Read more »

Radicalization of the Muslim American Community

The Committee on Homeland Security has just completed five hearings on the subject of Radicalization within the Muslim American Community. I would think the fact these hearings took place, as well as the full transcribed text of each of the five hearings would have been front page news all across America. The mantra out of... Denise Williams

Born and bred in Chicago, now living in the wilds of far suburbia. I'm a Gold Star Mom, a wife and step-mom to two terrific boys. My views are generally politically and socially conservative, though I am far from a Party line Republican. I believe in this country, our Constitution and above all, in the right of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I believe our government is supposed to serve the people, not tell them how to live. To me, this is just common sense, but since it seems to be a minority opinion, it has become "Uncommon Sense".
