Obama Apology Letter to Afghan People

This misleading headline has been quickly denounced as false by Susan Rice, Obama’s national security advisor. “No such letter has been drafted or delivered. There is not a need for the United States to apologize to Afghanistan,” was the statement she made on CNN’s “Situation Room”. She further stated she does not know where these... Read more »

Immigration Rally On National Mall

I have resisted writing anything about the shutdown, the ridiculousness of Washington DC, Obamacare and just about anything else in the news lately. Not because I don’t care but simply because I am so sickened and disgusted, I’m having a hard time forming words. With this latest news, that has changed. Last week I applauded... Read more »

Letter To The Family of Lee Rigby

I know your pain and to the parents, I understand there is no loss like that of a child. Two and a half years ago my son, too, was brutally murdered by Muslim fanatics. Truly, I understand. You have just begun a journey no one ever wants to take. Make no mistake this journey of... Read more »

British Soldier Killed in London

British Soldier Killed in London
A British soldier was killed, hit by a car then the knife-wielding assailants got out of the car and attempted to behead and disembowel the man as he lay dying in the street. In London. Today. When I saw the link from This Ain’t Hell, I had to click on it, thinking it was going... Read more »

Bin Laden is Dead

“Buddy, I know you knew before I did, they got OBL.  I wish I could raise one for you right now, but I will as soon as I get home”. The above message was posted on May 2nd, 2011 by a friend of my son’s, one of the guys that was there the day my... Read more »

Obama Arms Muslim Brotherhood

There is lunacy, then there is this. The US just delivered the first four of twenty F-16 bombers to Egypt as part a $1.3 billion Foreign Military Financing program. Next up on the delivery schedule are 200 M1A1 Abrams Main Battle Tanks. To Egypt. To Muslim Brotherhood Party leader and now President of the country,... Read more »

Inauguration Traditions are Clues to Policy

President and Mrs. Obama have given a lot of lip service to the support of our military and their families, but is it a genuine commitment or mere pandering? There is ample photographic and video-graphic proof of both the President and First Lady’s attendance at and participation in events for our military, particularly with military... Read more »

The 28th Amendment

The 28th Amendment does not exist, though there has been a proposal for one floating around for a very long time. And no, I’m not talking about the Equal Rights Amendment championed by luminaries such as Gloria Steinem and first proposed by Alice Paul in 1923. This 28th Amendment proposal has even less chance of... Read more »

Karzai Blames US For Afghan Insecurities

There should be no surprise that Afghan President Hamid Karzai blames the US for the ongoing insecurity in his country. What is a surprise is how this is being reported in this country. Actually, I’m more sickened than surprised. There are too many examples to cite all of them, so I’ll just use the one quote... Read more »

Iraqi Refugee Bombs Social Security Office Not Charged With Domestic Terrorism

Iraqi Refugee Bombs Social Security Office Not Charged With Domestic Terrorism
This headline should be plastered across every TV screen in the country, but I’ll bet most people have no idea to what I am referring. On Friday, November 30th, 2012 Abdullatif Ali Aldosary, an Iraqi refugee and American felon, placed an improvised explosive device, aka IED, at a government building in downtown Casa Grande, Arizona, a town... Born and bred in Chicago, now living in the wilds of far suburbia. I'm a Gold Star Mom, a wife and step-mom to two terrific boys. My views are generally politically and socially conservative, though I am far from a Party line Republican. I believe in this country, our Constitution and above all, in the right of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I believe our government is supposed to serve the people, not tell them how to live. To me, this is just common sense, but since it seems to be a minority opinion, it has become "Uncommon Sense".
