How to tell the difference between a Jihadi and a Muslim

Jihadi is a colloquial term for Muslims in general, but by definition is someone who participates in Jihad, or Holy War. The most pressing question facing the Nation today is how to tell the difference between someone who is a follower of the religion of Islam and someone who believes it is good, right and... Insurgents Not Terrorists in ObamaSpeak

The Taliban are not terrorists according to this administration. Exactly when that change in designation occurred depends on who you ask. And how far back and where you look. According to White House spokesman Eric Schultz at a press conference on Wednesday, “The Taliban is an armed insurgency, ISIL is a terrorist group. We don’t... Read more »

No More Killed In Action explained

I’ve taken a lot of flak for my post, No More Killed In Action #NoMoreKIAs, from August. Several of those for whom I have the deepest respect for their service to our country told me they feel almost betrayed. They remind me that risking their lives is part of the package, a risk they willingly... Read more »

Letter To The Family of Lee Rigby

I know your pain and to the parents, I understand there is no loss like that of a child. Two and a half years ago my son, too, was brutally murdered by Muslim fanatics. Truly, I understand. You have just begun a journey no one ever wants to take. Make no mistake this journey of... Read more »

Iraqi Refugee Bombs Social Security Office Not Charged With Domestic Terrorism
This headline should be plastered across every TV screen in the country, but I’ll bet most people have no idea to what I am referring. Ft. Hood and the Presidential Election
Tomorrow is the third anniversary of the Ft. Hood shooting. It is also Election Day. Are you going to vote for the guy who called it “work place violence”? Denise Williams

Born and bred in Chicago, now living in the wilds of far suburbia. I'm a Gold Star Mom, a wife and step-mom to two terrific boys. My views are generally politically and socially conservative, though I am far from a Party line Republican. I believe in this country, our Constitution and above all, in the right of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I believe our government is supposed to serve the people, not tell them how to live. To me, this is just common sense, but since it seems to be a minority opinion, it has become "Uncommon Sense".
