What Isn't Cut In The Budget

Previously, we looked at what has been cut. Now let’s look at what wasn’t. Of course, Congressional pay and benefits weren’t even discussed. Congress did grant a 1% salary increase to both Federal employees and active duty military personnel. But, with a 2% cost of living increase projected for 2014 that still translates to a... Toxic Vets - The Poisonous Legacy of Ft. McClellan

Ft. McClellan Alabama no longer exists as an Army base, at least not officially. In 1999, the Environmental Protection Agency shut down the base, labeling it a hazardous site. The area is so toxic that it is illegal to sink a well in the surrounding communities. Even though the base no longer houses military personnel,... Read more »

The 28th Amendment

The 28th Amendment does not exist, though there has been a proposal for one floating around for a very long time. Denise Williams

Born and bred in Chicago, now living in the wilds of far suburbia. I'm a Gold Star Mom, a wife and step-mom to two terrific boys. My views are generally politically and socially conservative, though I am far from a Party line Republican. I believe in this country, our Constitution and above all, in the right of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I believe our government is supposed to serve the people, not tell them how to live. To me, this is just common sense, but since it seems to be a minority opinion, it has become "Uncommon Sense".
