What Isn't Cut In The Budget

Previously, we looked at what has been cut. Now let’s look at what wasn’t. Of course, Congressional pay and benefits weren’t even discussed. Congress did grant a 1% salary increase to both Federal employees and active duty military personnel. But, with a 2% cost of living increase projected for 2014 that still translates to a... Let’s take a look at what it really means in hard numbers for our retired military, and more tellingly, for those who have been medically retired due to injuries sustained in service to this country. While we’re at it, let’s... Read more »

Born and bred in Chicago, now living in the wilds of far suburbia. I'm a Gold Star Mom. My views are generally politically and socially conservative, though I am far from a Party line Republican. I believe in this country, our Constitution and above all, in the right of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I believe our government is supposed to serve the people, not tell them how to live. To me, this is just common sense, but since it seems to be a minority opinion, it has become "Uncommon Sense".
