Wayne LaPierre is a Prophet

Wayne LaPierre is a Prophet
I’ve already seen the reports saying “More guns are the NRA’s answer”. Wayne LaPierre, the CEO of the NRA is a prophet because that is exactly what he said the media will exclaim is the distillation of his speech. The biased spin might have something to do with the fact that he insulted the media, saying their portrayal of... Read more »

The Sandy Hook Initiative

Michigan  Law to Expand CCW into Schools was a headline I recently found. Tennessee Marine Father Stands Guard at School is the topic of a Facebook post that has gone viral, with nearly 17,000 hits in a matter of hours. Employ Veterans as Security at Schools is an idea being discussed on numerous websites and... Read more »

Illinois Gun Ban Unconstitutional

Illinois’ refusal to allow citizens the right to bear arms in public has been declared unconstitutional by the US Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals in a 2-1 decision. Before you rush out and buy a holster, take a breath. This fight is far from over. So, what’s next? First, let’s look at what was actually... Read more »

Karzai Blames US For Afghan Insecurities

There should be no surprise that Afghan President Hamid Karzai blames the US for the ongoing insecurity in his country. What is a surprise is how this is being reported in this country. Actually, I’m more sickened than surprised. There are too many examples to cite all of them, so I’ll just use the one quote... Read more »

Iraqi Refugee Bombs Social Security Office Not Charged With Domestic Terrorism

Iraqi Refugee Bombs Social Security Office Not Charged With Domestic Terrorism
This headline should be plastered across every TV screen in the country, but I’ll bet most people have no idea to what I am referring. How Bob Costas On The Second Amendment Ruined Football

How Bob Costas On The Second Amendment Ruined Football

Now I can comfortably say that sportscasters commenting on tragedies are the most annoying thing, particularly when they are both flat-out wrong and stupid.  I’ve said it of Hollywood types before as well as singers and other entertainers and... Denise Williams

Born and bred in Chicago, now living in the wilds of far suburbia. I'm a Gold Star Mom, a wife and step-mom to two terrific boys. My views are generally politically and socially conservative, though I am far from a Party line Republican. I believe in this country, our Constitution and above all, in the right of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I believe our government is supposed to serve the people, not tell them how to live. To me, this is just common sense, but since it seems to be a minority opinion, it has become "Uncommon Sense".
