Red Fridays - Ryan vs Obama Budgets and Veterans

Red Fridays - Ryan vs Obama Budgets and Veterans
There has been entirely too much talk about what the Ryan or Obama budgets will mean for Veterans and Military Families, and which better supports those who voluntarily chose to put on our Nation’s uniform, without real, in depth and unbiased side by side comparison. Everyone has an opinion, but very few have taken the... Read more »

Red Fridays - Assistance Dogs help Wounded Veterans with PTSD & TBI
For those of us who are plugged into the military and veterans communities, it often feels as if every time you turn around, there is someone with their hand out looking for donations and support for their specific cause. We supporters are known as a generous lot and a soft touch. While most groups and... Read more »

I will address an issue and lay out why I feel the way I do, without rancor. I will... Read more »

Who Should Be Called A Veteran?

If I see one more headline, one more article, one more empty talking head refer to Wade Michael Page as a Veteran, I just might explode. Denise Williams

Born and bred in Chicago, now living in the wilds of far suburbia. I'm a Gold Star Mom, a wife and step-mom to two terrific boys. My views are generally politically and socially conservative, though I am far from a Party line Republican. I believe in this country, our Constitution and above all, in the right of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I believe our government is supposed to serve the people, not tell them how to live. To me, this is just common sense, but since it seems to be a minority opinion, it has become "Uncommon Sense".
