Chicago Ukrainians welcomed back, hugged, and kissed the Stanley Cup

Ukrainian American Blackhawks fans stayed up all night to welcome the champions and the trophy back home, to Chicago.

"Worth every second", proudly wrote one of the diehards on his Facebook page after the sleepless night. And their playoff beards will not be shaved until after the parade.

These truly passionate fans appeared on the Fox News:

And this is another lucky Ukrainian American, Steve Demitro, hugging the Cup:

The Lord Stanley was even kissed by a Ukrainian!

The NBC Chicago's reporter, Natalie Martinez, is a Chicagoan of the half-Ukrainian descent.

Ukrainian community of Chicago is also very proud of the the Blackhawks alumnus, Cliff Koroll, who is our fellow-Ukrainian. As he puts it, "I am 100% Ukrainian", even though he was born and raised in Canada.

Cliff played his entire NHL career for Chicago Blackhawks. He was the assistant coach for the Hawks and president of the Chicago Blackhawks Alumni Association.

One day I was lucky to have met the hockey legend.
