Happy Dr. Seuss Day! Theodor Geisel was born on March 2, 1904, and he published 40 books full of wit and wisdom that have delighted both children and adults for generations. He even won a Pulitzer Prize in 1984 for "his special contribution over nearly half a century to the education and enjoyment of America's children and their parents."
It seems fitting that his birthday would be both Dr. Seuss Day and also Read Across America Day in the United States. In honor of the occasion, here are some of my favorite Dr. Seuss quotes.
Dr. Seuss was a pretty fascinating individual and you can learn more about his life, including that his "Dr." came from an honorary degree and that his given last name was not Seuss, here.
