When talking with my tween about the death of Nelson Mandela at the age of 95, we talked about him and his incredible life, but I struggled to find words that adequately conveyed his influence, his accomplishments, his Nobel Peace Prize, his bright light, his wisdom. So, instead, I found some of my favorite quotes by Nelson Mandela and let his words inform my tween, both about the man he was and the legacy he leaves.
See if you can interest your tweens in scrolling through these quotes and start a discussion by asking either which is their favorite, or if one quote in particular could be helpful to them. Please share their answers in the comments.
