My tween asked today when we are going to watch Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer before Christmas. I was so happy that she asked my heart grew three sizes. Oops, wrong show. I mean it melted. Still no? Well, let's just say that I was as happy as a kid at Christmas.
My tween is shunning holiday customs meant for younger children, but in the safety of her home (with the doors locked and curtains drawn), we will embrace the tradition of watching the cherished TV Christmas specials like Rudolph, Frosty the Snowman, How The Grinch Stole Christmas and A Charlie Brown Christmas. Even if you've watched these decades-old Christmas TV specials time and time again, there are several surprising facts you may not know.
Anyone else remember when these were appointment TV and you had one chance to catch the special or be doomed to wait another whole year? Which special is your favorite and what facts would you include in this list?
