Tween bedroom makeovers can be stylish and fun
from HGTV.com

Tweens like to spend a lot of time in their bedroom, likely more than they ever have before they were tweens. Little kid rooms may have been cutely decorated with dinosaurs and princesses, but tweens are seek a different kind of style aesthetic in their own space. The internet has lots of fun ideas and inspiration that extends beyond One Direction posters and sports Fatheads. And this generation has likely seen its share of HGTV. They know good design. Here are a few recent posts of awesome tween rooms that caught my eye.

* Tween bedroom makeover with Land of Nod by HGTV host/designer Emily Henderson. In a blog post on designing a tween room, she said, "there is something about designing a kid’s space that lets you not take it so seriously, which can be refreshing when you obviously do have to take it all pretty seriously normally." She explains "that the easiest/fastest way to create a cohesive room with many different styles it so have a simple color palette."

I love Stephen Saint-Onge, and this Hollywood-inspired tween/tween bedroom that he designed is pretty fabulous and timeless. Of the makeover he said, "It was a huge it because it showcased a traditional undertone with the main furniture pieces (PB Teen FYI)...but then incorporated the teen into the mix by featuring modern artwork (from my own Canvas Collection) that was all about movie-making.  So it gave the teen some input into what they wanted the theme to be..but also gave the parents furniture they could live with."
