More Pandas: Traveling in China

Chinese researchers have been trying to increase the birthrate of pandas since the early nineties, but it wasn't until 2005 that they began to discover how to do it. This year Wolong had 14 panda babies. We saw three at Bifenxia where we were working with the pandas. And there were some born in America. The Washington zoo had a new baby.

Here are some photos of the one year old pandas we were working with. They're known at the kindergarteners. You have to look hard to find the ones in the first two photos. They're in a large fenced in area where they can play.

More on how the Chinese discovered what to do to increase panda births throughout the week. More photos coming.
