In downtown Wheaton, just a short walk from the train station, is a lovely spot for tea at Suzette's Creperie. Pinkies up or down, optional.
Suzette's Creperie is as French as you can get for a little bistro without leaving the Metra line or the country, for that matter. As is sometimes a tradition for families, or girlfriends, or mothers, daughters, and grandmothers, the holiday season is THE time for a holiday tea. This is so nice because you don't have to go all the way downtown Chicago to a hotel and walk from the station, or fight the traffic and pay for parking.
I have eaten at Suzette's for lunch a few times and it is always delicious. The crepes are obviously what they are known for (ie. in the name) but the quiche is my favorite. The cafe side is comfortable and quaint, the wine bar is charming and cozy, and the Boulangerie & Patisserie is a great quick stop (think ~ walk up counter) to take a croissant, croque-monsieur, fruit tart, or loaf of bread home.
