The odds couldn't have been writ larger for the Chicago Sky's first-ever playoff series. The Sky, who finished first in the Eastern Conference, will face the fourth seeded Indiana
Fever in the first round of the 2013 WNBA Playoffs.
Despite securing home field advantage through the first two rounds of the playoffs, this team is no 'gimme.' The Sky and Fever met four times during the regular season. The Sky took the first game 71-61 but fell to the conference rivals in their next three matchups.
The Chicago Sky had their best record in franchise history, finishing 24-10, while the
defending WNBA Champions, Indiana Fever completed the season with a 16-18 record.
The first game of the best-of-three Eastern Conference Semifinals will be held at 6 p.m. CT on Friday, September 20 at Allstate Arena. The game airs on NBATV. The Sky will head to Indianapolis for the second game of the series on Sunday, September 22 at 2 p.m. CT. Game Two airs on ESPN2. The date and time of the final game in the series, if needed, is to be determined.
The Indiana Fever moved into fourth place in the Eastern Conference after falling to the Connecticut Sun 82-80 on Sunday, September 15. The Washington Mystics finished the season in third place after defeating the New York Liberty in their final game of the regular season.
Monday Night Rally
Fans and media are encouraged to join the Sky coaching staff and players at Copper
House on Monday, September 16 for the Sky’s Playoff Rally. The Sky will be available
for interviews during the meet and greet event emceed by ESPN’s Sarah Spain.
Complimentary water, soda and appetizers, along with a cash bar will be provided. The
rally runs from 6-8 p.m. CT. Copper House is located at 4337 N Lincoln Ave, Chicago
