Text Dating Is For Lazy People!

If there is one thing
I hate about modern technology it's the TEXT MESSAGE!  It seems everyone
is always "texting" someone; to the point laws have to be passed to
keep people from texting and driving!  Really?!  You can't wait to
talk to someone until you stop the car?  I know most of you are too young
to remember the day of the landline, but growing up that's all we had; not
even an answering machine, that was for rich people!

Aside from the dangers of
texting while driving, there is also something very impersonal about it.
It's almost this "you are not good enough to talk to on the phone, but I
can send a quick message" attitude. With this mentality, I don't understand
"Texting Relationships".

Let me explain for
those that are not 12!  There are many 20-somethingers that use texting as
a form of relationship building (dating)!  Instead of having face to face,
or even phone, conversation, these people are getting to know each other by
text!  I don't get it!  How can you learn anything about someone over
a limited number of characters back and forth!  You
can't interpret sentiment and excitement, you could very well be
confusing them for depression and sarcasm!

The other problem with
texting your love life is that you are so detached that it makes it
easy to find flaws with someone without REALLY getting to know them.  You
then dump them and start texting the next person you meet online!  Texting
is a lazy man's way of dating!  Now I am not saying it is wrong to text
someone, I text all the time; but it is wrong to use texting as the main venue
for getting to know someone!  And, yes, there are circumstances in which
texting may be the only way of communicating, but if that is the case then why
are you pursuing someone you can't talk to?!

The point guys is
this: When you are getting to know someone you truly have interest in, make an
effort!  Setting aside time to talk to her on the phone is going to show
her that you are invested in getting to know her.

And on a side note:
The most annoying thing you can do to someone is ignore their call, let them
leave you a message, don't listen to the message, THEN TEXT THEM 2 MINUTES
LATER SAYING "YOU CALLED, WHAT'S UP"!!!!!  UGH!

We will get into
"SEXTING" in my next article!!!

And remember guys,

When in fear, don't
f'ing text The Queer!!!

Yeah that should have been the hint that he wasn't interested anymore. I laugh because that has happened to me and I really thought nothing of it until now. lol. Oh memories...

...but yes...text dating has been the worst experience of my life. I'm about to move to some exotic location where there are no cellphones and people have to actually communicate by speaking face to face.

  • I meant texting has been the worst experience of my dating life...well one of the worst experiences but at least an experience that is totally the guy's responsibility anyway.

  • In reply to ellp:

it baffles me; it really does! Hopefully you will never have to Test Date again!!!

  • Exactly! Just have an actual conversation and save the time!

  • Bottom line, if a guy likes a girl, he will call. If he sends a text, it will be asking to actually spend time with the girl. If a girl wants a guy to call, but all he ever does is text, then the answer is pretty obvious - stop responding to the texts, he'll either call, or said girl can move on to someone more deserving of her time.
