I recently had the honor of interviewing Kia Jenkins about her event planning business Kia Marie Events. How did you come up with the idea to start an event planning business?The idea to start a business began when my sister got married. During her wedding, several things did not go as planned and I knew there needed to be someone in place to make sure weddings were flawless.
What makes your company unique?Kia Marie Events is unique because not only do we do plan a gorgeously styled event, but we also offer in house floral design and event design.
What is your ideal event to plan? A wedding or a party?
What is your favorite venue in Chicago?Wow, there are some great venues here in Chicago. Right now I love starting with a blank canvas and transforming it into something magical and amazing for my clients.
What are three essential details necessary for planning a successful event?The three essential details for planning a successful event are: the date, budget and guest count. Everything else we can handle.
