"Once upon a time (2003) there was a girl with a dream. She packed up and left Chicago with her daughter to pursue a teaching career in New York City. Over the course of 7 years, she traveled the east coast from New York City to Boston in an effort to live a good life despite her circumstances. All the while she cared for her trusty sidekick Taylor who just happened to have special needs. By 2010, three academic degrees and three cities later, she graduated from her favorite Ivy League School and opened a pop-up business, giving people advice on how to start their next project. A month after her grand opening, a handsome dude from highschool wowed her from afar. This time she moved all the way back to Chicago, got married and she settled in the Northshore suburb of Evanston. It was there where she heard of Founding Moms and attended her first meet-up. Before she could attend her second meeting, she moved to Los Angeles to continue living her "happily ever after".
I am that girl with a dream. This Friday July 11th, I am hosting my FIRST Founding Moms Exchange in Los Angeles. Founding Moms is a collective of offline meetups and online resources where mom entrepreneurs can exchange, connect and learn from one another.
Wanna know more about Founding Moms? Check out this recent video from their interview on WTTW's Chicago Tonight. Jill Salzman is the brains behind the operation that has more than 8500 members worldwide. If you are in Chicago and would like to attend their upcoming conference on October 6th, Register Here.
WHEW! So many amazing things happening in my happily ever after. I am in awe at how Chicago is central to my story.
