The Printer's Row Literary Book Festival

The book festival was amazing this year! Not only was it a perfect day in terms of the weather, but I had the pleasure of connecting with many authors. Printer's Row is one of my favorite Chicago neighborhoods because it oozes history. The buildings, now mostly residential lofts was where most of Chicago's printing took place years ago.  I met author  Amy Timberlake, and purchased her most recent text, One Came Homeset in 1871.  Though the book is geared towards young adult audiences,  most adults will also enjoy reading a book because it  involves mystery and suspense.  Writing is such a personal experience, but participating in a writer's workshop with Amy made the writing process seem less daunting.

Another rewarding aspect of the festival was meeting two teens that are on staff at the magazine The Mash.  The Mash is a weekly newspaper written by teens for teens.  The two young ladies featured, were energetic and excited about this great newspaper.

It was definitely a great experience to be in a space with so many books!:)
