Sober Lindsay Lohan

Once upon a time, a leading lady existed who both had red hair and acting talent. Unlike the gingers of today, she was not pigeonholed into stereotypical ginger roles like Isla Fisher (crazy), Jessica Chastain (intense independent who would be the lead in a romcom) or sexpot (Joan from Mad Men). That leading lady is... Read more »

Disney Redheads Multiplying

Disney Redheads Multiplying
If you’ve been reading this blog, you know that a vital issue in gingerism is our depiction in the media. Most movies and TV shows feature a blonde or brunette as the leading female, with the exception of certain films that require fierce character development (ie Jessica Chastain in “Zero Dark Thirty”). Media often portrays... Read more »

Harry Potter Ginger Love

Harry Potter Ginger Love
J.K. Rowling let the world know that she regrets putting Ron and Hermione together in the Harry Potter series and that Hermione and Harry should actually be together. She also admits that in real life, Hermione and Ron would need relationship counseling. To this I have to say: THAT’S REDIST! Can’t we give the kid... Read more »

On Woody Allen Abuse & Victim Shaming

On Woody Allen Abuse & Victim Shaming
If you read one thing today, make it this. Dylan Farrow, Mia Farrow’s daughter, publicly spoke out in an open letter for the first time about allegedly being sexually assaulted by Woody Allen when she was seven. (For relevance to this blog, Dylan Farrow is a beautiful redhead.) The essay tugs at the heartstrings, to... Read more »

Amy Adams Betrays Ginger Pride

Amy Adams Betrays Ginger Pride
For her new movie, “Big Eyes”, which sounds pretty interesting, Amy Adams donned blonde hair on set. She looks a lot different. A little washed out but that might be the make up and dowdy clothes; she definitely looks better as a redhead. What do you think? Blonde v. redhead? Try to imaging her as... Read more »

Why AT&T Supports Redheads

Why AT&T Supports Redheads
Ok, ok I know EVERYONE hates AT&T. But me. I’ve never had much of a problem with their service; in fact, I’m usually the only one who can get service when everyone else can’t. Plus, my work phone runs on Verizon, and I can’t even get reception AT work. What’s the point of having a... Read more »

Finally, a real redheaded princess

Finally, a real redheaded princess
Fuck Ariel. When I saw her at Disney World on my post-college graduation roadtrip, we could tell she was cracked out. Of course, me being the ginge, I was forced to get a personal picture with her (while the blonde and redhead I roadtripped with snapped pics with sweet and sober Cinderella and Belle, respectively.)... Disney Gingers

I can’t believe this! I found this image on Pinterest of all the redheads in Disney movies! I had no idea it was so many! I’ve always complained that Ariel is the token redheaded Disney princess, and let’s face it, she’s a daywalker! Now I have so many more ideas for Halloween costumes…anyone want to... Read more »

Ugh, yet another redhead movie stereotype ... "Bad Teacher"

Ugh, yet another redhead movie stereotype ... "Bad Teacher"
My lovely new roommate got us a sweet package with several movie channels. So as I’m sitting here on a Friday night, eating General Tso’s chicken by my lonesome, I am shocked to find a bad movie like “Bad Teacher” further perpetuates ginger stereotypes of us as cray-cray. Cameron Diaz becomes rivals with a superstar... Read more »

Shouldn't a redhead have won "The Hunger Games"?

Shouldn't a redhead have won "The Hunger Games"?
Despite “The Hunger Games” being a mediocre book/movie at best, not to mention ripped off “Battle Royale”, I see some serious inaccuracies in both forms of the story. Suzanne Collins proves to be redist and portrays gingers stereotypically. First, there’s Foxface. Foxface is unusually clever. Oddly, the actress cast in the movie does not have... Read more »

The Ginger Phile has had the unfortunate disposition of being a ginger since birth. She has tried various medications to cure her gingervitis, including therapies such as tantrum-throwing. Her efforts have been to no avail. Instead, she is trying to write it out, via this blog. Unfortunately, she doesn't think it will bear a soul for her. The Ginger Phile is from the exotic land of Wisconsin, where she had daily inner turmoil over whether she was a ginger or a daywalker. So far, three of three votes say daywalker. She begs to differ, as someone recently told her they would want to be with her if they were biking at night because she is so pale.
