Redheads Are In Vogue

Literally. Vogue published an editorial called “Fire Starters” featuring the likes of Julianne Moore, her daughter, Jessica Chastain, Amy Adams and even one of the men who has proven ginger men can be as dreamy, if not dreamier, than the tall-dark-and-handsomes, pro-snowboarder Shaun White. Annie Leibovitz photographed the unicorns of the human race, so the... Read more »

Israeli Redheads

Israeli Redheads
As many of you know, I am obsessed with Israel. Ever since I was young, I wanted to travel there. I really wanted to study abroad there, but that’s probably not the safest country for study abroad. Especially since the Gaza War (when Hamas overtook the Gaza Strip) occurred during my junior year…prime study abroad... Read more »

Disney Redheads Multiplying

Disney Redheads Multiplying
If you’ve been reading this blog, you know that a vital issue in gingerism is our depiction in the media. Most movies and TV shows feature a blonde or brunette as the leading female, with the exception of certain films that require fierce character development (ie Jessica Chastain in “Zero Dark Thirty”). Media often portrays... Read more »

On Woody Allen Abuse & Victim Shaming

On Woody Allen Abuse & Victim Shaming
If you read one thing today, make it this. Dylan Farrow, Mia Farrow’s daughter, publicly spoke out in an open letter for the first time about allegedly being sexually assaulted by Woody Allen when she was seven. (For relevance to this blog, Dylan Farrow is a beautiful redhead.) The essay tugs at the heartstrings, to... Read more »

Can gingers twerk?

Can gingers twerk?
I’m not sure whether it’s the scrubs he wears or the dog he walks or that he walks a dog while wearing scrubs, but I have a schoolgirl crush on a ginger man who lives in my building. That’s a first for me. And apparently, I fit right in with the zeitgeist because despite a... Read more »

Why You Shouldn't Mess With Redheads

Thumbnail image for 'Why You Shouldn't Mess With Redheads'
Buzzfeed created this insanely awesome video that had me going, “Why didn’t I think of doing that?” Here are a few of my favorite quotes from the video: “Do you have the rarest hair color in the world. Probably not!” “I guess we just don’t go down as easily as the rest of the world.”... Read more »

Louis Vuitton Exploits Gingers for Good

As I was flipping through The Wall Street Journal Magazine (pretend I didn’t just say that), I saw a Louis Vuitton ad that shocked me. Not only did was a ginger modeling what’s considered an elite brand, but also she was half naked. Among a blonde, a brunette and an Asian, she was the one... Read more »

New York Post Interviews The Ginger Philes!
So I’ve been struck with the plague so many Chicagoans are currently facing (the common cold) but in case you haven’t seen it already, The Ginger Philes was interviewed by the New York Post! The story is about how redheads are more prone to melanoma (duh!) but here’s the shocker: we are more prone to... Read more »

The Ginger Phile has had the unfortunate disposition of being a ginger since birth. She has tried various medications to cure her gingervitis, including therapies such as tantrum-throwing. Her efforts have been to no avail. Instead, she is trying to write it out, via this blog. Unfortunately, she doesn't think it will bear a soul for her. The Ginger Phile is from the exotic land of Wisconsin, where she had daily inner turmoil over whether she was a ginger or a daywalker. So far, three of three votes say daywalker. She begs to differ, as someone recently told her they would want to be with her if they were biking at night because she is so pale.
