Casting Call for Redheads

Well apparently the Hollywood people lump redheads in with twins and little people; I guess they think we’re all freakshows. That’s because “Chicago PD”, a runoff of “Chicago Fire” put out a casting call for extras and mentioned that they’re specifically looking for us. I can only imagine the plotlines. If you’re interested, the details... Read more »

Mythbusters: Redhead Edition

Mythbusters: Redhead Edition
Many assume redheads to be certain things but I think it’s time for us to quell some myths about redheads: 1.) Myth: Redheads are fiery-tempered. Fact: Just because almost all redheads become angry upon being told they have a temper doesn’t prove your “theory”. In fact, most redheads who have tempers have them from nurture, not nature.... How to be a Redhead (in 7 easy steps)

How to be a Redhead (in 7 easy steps)
The website “How to be a Redhead” got me thinking on my walk home from work today…what makes someone a redhead? I came up 7 things that make redheads…well, redheads. Here’s how to be a redhead in 7 easy steps: 1. Hate the ‘blonde or brunette’ debate because the winner is clearly redheads. 2. Be... Read more »

Looks Matter: How to Be Attractive

Looks Matter: How to Be Attractive
It appalls me. I’m much more satisfied now than I was before, but how could this happen. What happened to me? How can people be so cruel? At 26, I am the classic ugly duckling-turned swan story. Frizzy red hair, a slight pot-belly from a single-semester soda addiction, but still awkwardly skinny and no clue... Read more »

Where Did Redheads Come From?

In case you haven’t heard, scientists have “discovered” that red hair became an evolution thing when humans moved out of Africa 50,000 years ago. Homo sapiens began to become redheads to adapt to colder/darker climates where we wouldn’t get as much Vitamin D. And now our pale skin makes us not need as much Vitamin... Read more »

The Ginger Phile has had the unfortunate disposition of being a ginger since birth. She has tried various medications to cure her gingervitis, including therapies such as tantrum-throwing. Her efforts have been to no avail. Instead, she is trying to write it out, via this blog. Unfortunately, she doesn't think it will bear a soul for her. The Ginger Phile is from the exotic land of Wisconsin, where she had daily inner turmoil over whether she was a ginger or a daywalker. So far, three of three votes say daywalker. She begs to differ, as someone recently told her they would want to be with her if they were biking at night because she is so pale.
