Staying Power: Redheaded Stars

Staying Power: Redheaded Stars

Yesterday, as I was getting my annual pedicure (not because I'm a girly-girl like that but because besides being a ginger, I've been blessed with feet that "look like Africa" according to my blonde Californian friend), I happened to page through an issue of Vanity Fair in which they captured actors and actresses of the every year starting with 1995.

I of course flipped through intending to spot all the redheads. Out of 17 years, there were three female redheads, with one being a fake. The two non-fake redheads were pictured multiple times in years not even near each other! Both have staying power, and this impresses me. TWO redheads is really good, if you think about it, and it's about quality over quantity, right?

They are TWO of my redheaded idols: Nicole Kidman and Julianne Moore (blog post to come).

The fake ginger? Emma Stone. I heard she dyed her hair back to blonde anyway. Good riddance.

The Ginger Phile has had the unfortunate disposition of being a ginger since birth. She has tried various medications to cure her gingervitis, including therapies such as tantrum-throwing. Her efforts have been to no avail. Instead, she is trying to write it out, via this blog. Unfortunately, she doesn't think it will bear a soul for her. The Ginger Phile is from the exotic land of Wisconsin, where she had daily inner turmoil over whether she was a ginger or a daywalker. So far, three of three votes say daywalker. She begs to differ, as someone recently told her they would want to be with her if they were biking at night because she is so pale.
