The things we are all willing to put up with during our college years...
My final semester in college was spent renting in a hotel converted into student apartments. "The Atrium" featured all of the amenities you would come to expect from a college-town hotel (life-size chess set, catfish pond, and a hotel pool with international flags adorning the skylight)
We were in the lap of luxury: four bedrooms, two baths, one kitchen. Oh, and a tin roof.
Truly- a tin roof. We were the top floor and I clearly remember that first rain storm!
It was also one of the nicest options for student apartments and the chess set was impressive. They've likely upgraded the finishes and replaced the roof but it will always hold a special place in my heart.
