Pink Party Chicago 2010 makes a difference for women!

Kristi Dawson is courageous. In fact, she's a giver too. She said so herself at her foundation's Pink Party Chicago event held on Saturday in Chicago's West Loop area. The Big City Swing dance studio was beautifully transformed into an elegant affair set to raise funds for breast cancer through the Love Yourself First Foundation. Proceeds for the supportive night went to Helping Her Live, a program in the city that accommodates and motivates minority women to get tested. A Cancer survivor herself, Kristi Dawson rested her Publicist hat for the night to host an evening dedicated to the celebration of other survivors and encouraging women of all ages to get tested. Diane Baker, representing Sinai Urban Health Institute, told us all the great lengths they go to just to save more women's lives from cancer.

The disease is a major epidemic affecting the the community at large and events like Kristi's continually raise awareness and celebrate the life of women. She invited Ameenah Mallory, a Western & Southern Life Insurance Agent, to speak to her guests about important new products ideal for patients and their loved ones. Dorothy Dahe gave her faithful testimony of surviving the disease and Gospel Dream victor Melinda Watts blessed the crowd with her beautiful voice by singing two original songs. The good music never stopped playing, as DJ Showtime kept us grooving with our favorite classic R&B tunes all night. We feasted on delicious appetizers provided by Pleasure On A Plate, a professional catering company run by Kristi's own mother. Before the night came to an end, Kristi awarded Ms Valerie Berry with the Pink Passion Award for her steadfastness in surviving through breast cancer. For such a great event, we tip our blogger hats to Kristi Dawson and her media partners: Action Magazine, Gloss Magazine, & Fresh Swagger Entertainment.
