Congratulations to Daniel Bell of Chicago, who won the drawing for a pair of tickets to Brooklyn Brewery's Beer Mansion this weekend! See details below, tickets are still available!
Once again, we have a very full calendar. I have tried to pare it down by listing some of the weekend-long events just of the Friday or Saturday that they start...
The Oktoberfest period spills over into weekday events. And now the "pumpkin spice" beers are coming into the mix.
And remember, this Wednesday at noon is the deadline to enter my drawing for a pair of tickets to the Brooklyn Brewery Mash Chicago Beer Mansion, this weekend! See the details and your chance to enter at this link
This may be my busiest Saturday for individual events, thanks to the many Oktoberfest celebrations going on. I've put in as many as I can that seem to have either local beer for some German imports, rather than just the usual "bucket of Buds."
Have you entered my giveaway for tickets to Brooklyn Brewery's Beer Mansions, going on in this town next weekend? No? Then check this article
Hey, while I was doing this and that, MyGrain Brewing Co.
opened its doors on Thursday. Joliet had been one of the largest cities in the (non-Dry) United States that did not
have a local brewer, but that's over with. And there are more brewers working to open there, too. MyGrain is open with beer and food at 11 am every day. They're in Joliet's Union Station at 50 E. Jefferson St., Suite 106. Phone 815-345-3339. Welcome aboard!
We are in the thick of Oktoberfest weekends. I am including as many as I can find which might feature local beers or any good Oktos from across the sea! I'm watching for beer-centric events for watching the Bears.
And soon, yes, soon, we'll be offering playoff baseball events...
The local Oktoberfest celebration was going on down the block this past weekend, so I had another chance to review an Oktoberfest beer that had been sent to me by the brewers’ PR rep for my comment. In the spirit of the season, I get to Lagunitas Brewing Co.’s One-Hitter 2016 series beer, Tuperfest. Lagunitas... Read more »

Let’s see if I can actually make that happen. Monday, September 19 5 Rabbit Tap Takeover... Read more »

So, in the midst of all these Oktoberfests running through the next several weekends, we have the start of Bears football this weekend! I offer my observation of another sign of “holiday creep:” as of Labor Day weekend, I have already had a Pumpkin Spice Latte, before I’ve had an Oktoberfest beer. Usually I only need one PSL a year to settle my curiosity, otherwise, another $5 gussied up hot chocolate is just not in my budget. But... Read more »
