Today, December 5 as of my starting this article, is Repeal Day, noting the 84th anniversary of the end of Prohibition. Of course, I thought to celebrate. The Standard Market near me was running a special at their CUBE bar, they were open earlier and I could hit it before work for a few tasters.... Read more »
This holiday beer season, I'm publishing my calendar of events for Black Wednesday now, with Black Friday to come very shortly after.
These days bracketing Thanksgiving Day have become important not just for Christmas shopping, but for folks in Chicago to get their lips around Goose Island's Bourbon County Stouts and variants. BCS goes on draft Wednesday, while bottles will be available Friday at the re-opened and re-named Goose Island Brewhouse, and at retailers around the area. Here's my preview
of the 2017 BCS variants.
Meanwhile, other brewers and establishments will be taking advantage of the hubbub to put on some big beer events of their own.
For those coming across my events articles for the first time, each day's events are fed in from my Google Calendar by a little programming app I wrote myself. All I have to do is enter new events on the calendar, and they appear here. However, the events appear inside a separate HTML iframe, so this article has a scrollbar inside the usual scrollbar. And check back, we'll be adding more events...

I hope I helped everyone get to some places where they could get at least a taste of the Black Friday beer deals. For myself, waiting a few hours in the cold would probably be very bad for me. Besides, how much longer could I go without taking my kids to see Big Hero 6. Since... Read more »
Back in October, I was among this town’s beer writers who got the privilege of touring Goose Island’s new barrel warehouse at 603 N. Sacramento. I also got, of course, a taste of the 2014 Bourbon County Brand Stout and its variants. I’d like to say I held off on offering you this description to... Read more »

So I have finally tracked out the ones mentioned on its website, which only mentioned the street corners where these places were found. Apparently, they wanted to keep the actual locations...
