A couple of passings to note in the beer world. Seery Athlone of Addison, which closed its doors in February, finally posted an explanation on Facebook:
And Mokena Brewing, which had been chugging along, getting its permits and space in order, suddenly has its space listed for lease. The plumbing and drainage are shown in place, as walls have been roughed in, but no brewing equipment. The listing mentions "Previous operator lost major investor...
So the improbable run of the Ramblers came to an end on Saturday against Michigan. And apparently Goose Island had one of those bets with Founders Brewing, in which supporters of the winning team will take over the Twitter feed of the other brewer on April 4. And there'll an announcement that day, likely of some type of collaboration.
Meantime, as I write this article on Saturday evening, both the Sox and Cubs are leading their divisions...
