Chicago Craft Beer Week, July 1-4

Chicago Craft Beer Week, July 1-4
The Father of Our Country on a beer revenue stamp of 1878.

Update: I've ended up adding many more places that have posted that they will be open for July 4. This is by no means a complete list, so call your favorite watering hole for confirmation.

Vice District Brewing has confirmed that it is shifting to commercial production and closing its Taproom in Homewood, but making it available for parties and meetings. The brewer was previous evicted from its original location in the South Loop.

Brewbound reports that Celis Brewery in Austin, TX is being put up for auction on July 2. The brewery was started by Christine Celis. Her late father Pierre Celis had revived the Belgian Wit style with Hoegaarden before selling it to Interbrew (now part of Anheuser-Busch InBev), then started Celis Brewery in Texas before it was bought out and closed by Miller. Chrstine revived the family name in 2017 with a 50,000 barrel brewhouse, but was dogged from the start by financial issues.

Meanwhile, SingleCut Beersmiths of Astoria, NY are making their entry into the Chicago market. I have some of their events below.

Monday, July 1

Tuesday, July 2

Wednesday, July 3

Independence Day, July 4
