Chicago Craft Beer Weekend, January 25-27

Chicago Craft Beer Weekend, January 25-27

I am trying to get ahead of my usual glacial pace in events, because of more items that you might want to plan ahead for. Sure, I'll have Super Bowl listings for places known for their beer lists. But the Saturday before the game is the Chicago Ale Festival, taking place in Pilsen. Then the following weekend is the Chicago Cider Summit, and then there's Valentine's Day. We'll have some more brewers in Chicago celebrating anniversaries, and a new brewer, Steam Hollow, coming on line in Manteno.

It can also be noted that Middle Brow Beer Co. is close to opening its own brewpub is Logan Square (2840 W. Armitage Ave.). The doors could open at any time, once local licenses are cleared. I will try to update this space, and there will surely be a grand opening later, hopefully when it's not so cold. (Chicago Tribune article)

As you might notice, there are still samplings and tap takeovers for Bourbon County Stout. Looks like there's not only more of it out there than ever before, but I have been seeing it served at a lot of places that have not been known for good beer offerings.
