Chicago Black Friday Beer Weekend, November 23-25

Chicago Black Friday Beer Weekend, November 23-25
Goose Island Bourbon County Stout

Here we are at the high holiday for Chicago beer fans. I've had people message me asking about events because they're flying in from the West Coast, and want to know what else is going on. So hang on. Here's what's going on.
If you really don't feel like lining up for BCS starting the night before, you can find it in many other places. And there are plenty of other barrel-aged beers going online the same day. And other places will be offering BCS events well into December.
I am still finding new events for this weekend, so be sure to check back.

Friday, November 23

7:00 am • Binny's Bourbon County Stout Release
Binny's Lincoln Park, 1720 N. Marcey St., Chicago 312‑664‑4394
Head to Binny's Chicago - Lincoln Park for the biggest Goose Island Bourbon County release in Chicago. We’re making some changes based on your feedback. First, we’re opening our doors two hours early – 7:00 am – only at Binny’s Lincoln Park. Keep an eye on our twitter account throughout the day of the release. Full updates at Binny's Black Friday post.

Intelligentsia and Goose Island staff will be onsite early in the morning with coffee and some other surprises. Starting Thursday night, our parking lot will be closed to make room for the line. We suggest using public transportation. We’ll have extra porta johns this year, and we’re pumping up staff to make sure everybody in line knows what is going on.

Your most common feedback from last year’s release was about the line, so we’re adding overnight staff and extra safeguards to limit cutting and confusion. Throughout Thursday night, we’re passing out wrist bands as people get in line, 1000 total. This will help us keep count on the line. Please stay in line. Sometime Friday morning, we’ll pass out the actual tickets to purchase your full allocation. No wrist band, no ticket. No ticket, no BCBS.

To keep the line moving, we are only offering the full allocation of this year’s releases for sale as one full case (plus optional vintage bottles and extras). It’s all or nothing, and we’re pretty sure you’ll want it all:

Binny’s LP Full allocation – Price TBD (all bottles 16.9 oz)

  • 2 Bourbon County Brand Stout
  • 2 Bourbon County Brand Wheatwine
  • 2 Bourbon County Brand Bramble Rye Stout
  • 2 Proprietor's Bourbon County Brand Stout
  • 1 Reserve Bourbon County Brand Stout
  • 1 Bourbon County Brand Vanilla Stout
  • 1 Bourbon County Brand Midnight Orange Stout
  • 1 Bourbon County Brand Coffee Barleywine

We’ve also been able to secure enough vintage bottles to guarantee one vintage bottle to everyone buying an allocation. That means your choice (from the remaining – there’s a limited supply of each) of these great bottles from the archive. Prices will vary:

  • 2014 Bourbon County Brand Stout Vanilla Rye
  • 2015 Rare Bourbon County Brand Stout
  • 2016 Bourbon County Brand Coffee Stout
  • 2016 Proprietor’s Bourbon County Brand Stout
  • 2017 Bourbon County Brand Coffee Stout
  • 2017 Bourbon County Brand Northwoods Stout

Plus early arrivers will have a chance to buy this year’s collectible Spiegelau BCBS glass. The first 200 through the doors will also receive a Goose Island tote bag with commemorative book and 2018 poster. Please remember this isn’t a campout or a bottle share – it’s a release of some awesome beer and we want to keep it awesome.

9:00 am • Binny's Bourbon County Stout Release
Other Binnys locations.

Can't make it to Lincoln Park? All other Binny’s Chicagoland locations open their doors at 9:00 am for their release. At all our stores, you’ll get the chance to buy from the minimum allotment, while supplies last. You don’t have to buy everything, but you’ll have the chance to buy four bottles of Original BCBS and one of each of the variants from this year’s release, again while supplies last. This year’s Reserve is extremely allocated and is limited to six bottles per Binny's location. We’re actually pretty excited that we were able to get that many.

For our Champaign, Bloomington and Springfield customers, you’ll get the chance to buy from the minimum allotment, while supplies last. You don’t have to buy everything, but you’ll have the chance to buy (all bottles 16.9 oz):

  • 2 Bourbon County Brand Stout
  • 1 Bourbon County Brand Wheatwine
  • 1 Bourbon County Brand Bramble Rye Stout
  • 1 Bourbon County Brand Vanilla Stout
  • 1 Bourbon County Brand Midnight Orange Stout
  • 1 Bourbon County Brand Coffee Barleywine
