We've come through Oberon Day, now it's time to scare up for Kentucky Breakfast Stout, which is from Michigan. Which is whom Loyola is playing in the NCAA Final Four Saturday night. Some might say that out of loyalty to a Chicago team, you should boycott high-priced Michigan beers, but I'm not one of those. You'd see me in the background rubbing my hands and saying, "More for me, heh! Heh!"
I also note that Mikerphone Brewing put up tickets for "Smells Like a Beerfest", a party for the release of their barrel-aged Smells Like Bean Spirit imperial coffee stout, with pours from dozens of guest breweries, on April 28. Tickets went on sale Wednesday and sold out in minutes, although to be fair, they could only manage 500 guests. What I'm suggesting is, don't wait to try and snag these tickets:
Oath Day at Solemn Oath in Naperville is Saturday, June 8. Tickets go on sale Friday, March 30 at their website.
Dark Lord Day at Three Floyds in Munster is Saturday, May 19. Tickets go on sale March 31 at Noon CDT, at eTix.com.
Oh, yes, and Easter. I've posted some Easter brunches in places known for a good beer list.
