UPDATE: The River North Beer Fest has been rescheduled to Saturday, December 5. Reason: the John Barleycorn site is being redone into an Old Crow Smokehouse restaurant. This Tribune article has details.
Tickets are still on sale, for the new date, at RiverNorthBeerFest.com. Enter the promo code BEERONAUT and pay just $10 until September 25. After that, the discounted price is $20.
This past June, the River North Beer Fest lit up the sky—okay, it lit up some attendees out of a thousand who enjoyed it—at
John Barleycorn Old Crow Smokehouse and Moe's Cantina at 149 W. Kinzie St. This fall, they are back with an Oktoberfest edition, to take place Saturday, October 10th, from noon to 4 pm.
As before, your admission includes 36 tickets for two-ounce samples of beer. There will be about 50 beers to choose from; while the brewer list is not set yet, the summer edition brought out over 20 brewers, including locals.
Right now, the Early Bird tickets for this fest are $30, but once again, I have been offered a chance to offer you a discount. Go to the event site, RiverNorthBeerFest.com, click the "Buy Tickets" box, and on the next screen, click "Enter Promotional Code," and type in "Beeronaut." What was $30 is now $10. Plus Eventbrite fees, buy hey, I just brought down the sample cost to 65¢ per.
The ticketing page will also have details on other premiums, including a free ride (up to $30) on Über, $15 in free delivery food from DoorDash, a free manicure or $20 Credit from Whittl, $20 credit towards your dining experience from Reserve, and $20 in free dry cleaning and laundry from Washio (All offers valid for first time users only).
